Hey Ihr Lieben..soviel passiert diese Woche. Einfach nur Wow. Es gibt wieder etwas cooles, das ich Euch gerne vorstellen möchte: Kinostalgia, eine Filmparty für Menschen, die Film und Vintage lieben. Über Fernanda, die das Event ins Leben gerufen hat, erfahrt Ihr im Interview mehr. Aber erstmal zur Veranstaltung…
Am Samstag Abend könnt Ihr im passenden Vintage-Outfit abtauchen in eine andere Zeit! Und zwar in die von “Some Like it Hot” – “Manche mögen’s heiß”. Im roten Salon der Volksbühne spielt die Band „Sugar Kane Jazz Trio“ unvergessene Songs von Marilyn Monroe und Jazz-Klassiker.
Die Filmvorführung beginnt um 21 Uhr im Roten Salon (Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz 1, 10178 Berlin). Anschließend steigt die Party mit Filmhits. Der Film wird übrigens in Originalsprache mit deutschen Untertiteln gezeigt.

Fernanda war so lieb, ein paar Fragen für Euch zu beantworten. Da sie aus Brasilien kommt, ist das Interview in englisch. Ich bin jedenfalls total begeistert und schon gespannt auf Fernandas kommende Projekte.
What are your plans..when will be the next event?
The plan is that this will become a monthly event. The next event is on 21st September but the film is still to be confirmed. Unfortunately I cannot announce before the license is cleared.
How did you get the idea to make it?
The idea came about when I completed my postgraduate diploma in Business in Cultural Event Management in mid 2009 and jobs have become scarce in Ireland due to the economic recession. I then decided I would try to bring my final project to life.
Around the same time, programmer Anna Taylor was bringing classic movies back to the Screen cinema in Dublin, what caught my attention. I approached her about running a test event in her cinema. We did it and the response was amazing. People kept asking when was the next one so we developed the concept further together and launched a regular night called Film Fatale on February 2011. We worked together on it until my move to Berlin two months ago. Now Anna is in charge of Film Fatale in Dublin and I’m launching Kinostalgia in Berlin.

Where are you from?
I’m originally from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, but I have spent the last 6 years living in Dublin in Ireland where I have developed the concept and started this project under the name of Film Fatale with my former partner Anna Taylor. How did you find your way to Berlin?
My first time in Berlin was in 2005 when I was visiting a friend from Brazil who was doing an exchange here. Since then I have been in love with the city and constantly flirting with the idea of one day living here. I kept coming back (7 times before I moved!) and my circle of friends and bond with Berlin were strengthened over the years. One day it felt like the right time to move. It’s been only two months but it feels like home already.
